TVComet is a UK-based online store with one mission: to make it easier for everyone — especially people with hearing or vision impairments — to find the right TV.

Our story

TVComet was founded out of frustration. Buying a TV is confusing at the best of times — but if you or someone you love has a hearing loss or vision impairment, the standard specs sheets tell you almost nothing about what actually matters.

We set out to change that. We built our own rating system — the Universal Accessibility Score — and started testing every TV we sell against it. The result is a store where you can filter, compare, and buy with confidence, knowing the numbers behind each score.

We're a small, UK-owned team. We don't take payments from manufacturers to influence our scores. We just test TVs and tell you what we find.

Our rating system

The Universal Accessibility Score (UAS)

Every TV we sell is scored across three dimensions — each out of 10. The higher the score, the better the TV performs in that category.

Visual Score

Rates picture quality, contrast, brightness, text legibility in menus, and support for zoom and high-contrast modes. Critical for viewers with low vision.

Audio Score

Rates dialogue clarity, maximum volume, audio description support, hearing aid compatibility, Bluetooth output, and subtitle quality. Essential for viewers with hearing loss.

Overall Score

A holistic rating combining Visual and Audio with ease of navigation, voice control, smart TV screen reader support, and general usability for all ages and abilities.

Scores are determined by our team through hands-on testing. Manufacturers do not pay to influence scores.
